The French Revolution
When the Queen raised taxes for the peasants, the peasants fought back because they didn't raise taxes for the upper class people. The French helped the Americans fight the British.
When the war was over with, the French were broke because they helped the Americans so much. There were more peasants then the upper class so it was harder to fight against the peasants. The peasants were poor to begin with and could only afford to buy bread. Now that the queen raised taxes the peasants couldn't afford to eat because they already couldn't get the bread in the first place.
The Queen said "let them eat cake", this says that the queen doesn't care about anyone but herself . The peasants beheaded the queen because of all the rage that she had caused when she raised taxes. As Mrs. Buie says, you arent you when you're hungry so the rage caused the idea of the French Revolution.
