Enthusiasm: intense and eager enjoyment, interest, or approval. People look for leaders who show enthusiasm and are knowledgeable about their jobs.

Michael Scott, from the show The Office, is overly enthusiastic in this scene because he is explaining just how happy he would be if the girl he liked was not engaged. Though the enthusiasm he has towards life is a good quality, this is an example of him taking enthusiasm to an extreme.

This is a video describing how one can add more enthusiasm to their everyday lives, and how that can greatly benefit someones attitude towards life.

Leaders that exemplify enthusiasm

Current leaders that exemplify enthusiasm are leaders in the Marine Corps. They use this trait to unite their troops and show genuine love for the job that they are doing.

Ralph Waldo Emerson was known for being an American poet, essayist, and lecturer. In the mid 19th century, he led the Transcendentalist movement and was seen as a "champion of individualism". He used enthusiasm throughout his public work, and this was a necessary trait for him to have to lead a movement.

This Brazilian soccer coach was explaining how in order to prepare his team for an upcoming game, he had to take focus away from the drills of soccer and focus it on the mindset of the players to make sure every player had the necessary enthusiasm to pull off  a win.
